Eugene Timbers FC New Logo
Hello ETFC players and families, we finally can present our new logo to reflect our name change and affiliation with the Portland Timbers. We would like to thank Eric Keskeys for his patience in designing our new logo. Over the next week or two we will change our website and facebook site as well as all other changes necessary with the name change. Happy new year to you all from the Eugene Timbers.
ETFC Donations for Scholarship Fund
Hello ETFC supporters, since 2006 our club has supported qualfiied players who can't afford our fees with financial help through our ETFC scholarship fund with over $40,000 annually. The ETFC scholarship fund is filled with donations from YOU, and several ETFC events throughout the year. The spring break camp, 3v3 Challenge Cup, ETFC adidas Premier Cup and other events. However, we do rely on contributions from community members, and club members and supporters to make soccer affordable for all players. Please read more about the ETFC Scholarship Fund here and consider donating online.
ETFC recruits soccer referees
The Eugene Timbers FC recognizes that competent referees contribute to a positive player experience. The Club further recognizes through refereeing, many other youths can participate in and enjoy this game. As a result, the Club wants to help recruit, train and retain referees. In order to become a referee you need to have the passion for the game, you need to be fit, and you need to get certified. In becoming a referee you have to be 13 years and older and the best referees typically play the game as well. Please check out the upcoming Grade 8 clinic and more information about getting certified here.
EMFC joins Timbers Alliance
EMFC is very excited to announce a new step forward for our soccer club. EMFC has joined the Timbers Alliance, an association of premier soccer clubs working closely with the Portland Timbers to strengthen competitive youth soccer in our region. As a Timbers Alliance club, Eugene Metro FC will adopt a new name - Eugene Timbers FC - and will wear new colors - Red and Black. Although we remain an independent club, we share the Timbers Alliance badge and have agreed to work with other Timbers Alliance clubs (Westside Timbers, Eastside Timbers, Washington Timbers, Bend Timbers, and Rogue Valley Timbers) to create new opportunities for our players to train and compete. Please read more about the opportunities here in a letter from the Director of Coaching. Our President of the Board of Directors, Derek Johnson, shares his thoughts on this exciting new step. Read here.
The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national program which is designed to identify and develop talented, committed youth soccer players to represent their state, region, and country in soccer competitions. Please read here for more information about specific age groups, organization, tryouts, cost, etc. EMFC has currently 28 players on Oregon's Olympic Development Program teams — you can see the full list here (PDF). Congratulations to all those players. We wish you all the best in your upcoming competitions with their state teams.
