U10 Academy Program
The EMFC U10 Academy is designed to develop players and identify those who will become the future EMFC players of tomorrow. The U10 academy focuses on player development and provides players with the best possible opportunity to develop to the highest level they are capable of achieving.
Getting ready for premier
Fourth grade is a major transition year for club soccer. Fourth graders in EMFC have their choice between playing in our Little Metros program or stepping up into the U10 Academy Program. Like the Youth and High School Premier programs, the U10 academy is a full-year commitment. Players are organized into committed teams with a head coach. Those teams compete in the local Kidsports youth league one year up to provide them with a good challenge. The U10 academy is an ideal training ground to prepare younger players for the entrance in the Youth Premier Program.

About this program
EMFC offers a U10 year-round program in order to train players for a successful entrance into EMFC's competitive program at U11. The annual program includes four modules. A Summer module introduces the first part of the U10 academy training and ends with a summer tournament. The fall module and league builds on, maintains, and expands on the summer training. The EMFC academy teams compete in the local Kidsports Klassic league at the U11 level. After a short break, the players go indoor over the winter and focus again on training and improving their technical abilities. The spring module and league play concludes the year. All league play will be in an 8 v 8 format.
This is a year round program for those players wanting a higher level of skill building, competition, and commitment. The U10 academy begins in mid to late May and is designed for third graders at that time. Only U10 players (in fourth grade during 2011 - 2012 school year) can register for this program. Any third graders in 2011-2012 must have permission from Director of Coaching for inclusion in this program. This program will offer room for up to 12 players per team to work with one of our EMFC staff coaches and supervision from the Director of Coaching.
Finn Cronin will coach the boys group and Caitlin O'Donnell will coach the girls group. Registration for this program will be open from April 15 to May 15 and requires a full one-year financial and time commitment to all four modules. When a team is full, EMFC will try to form another team. EMFC will dedicate a head coach for all 4 modules and help coordinate efforts to play in local leagues and tournaments. Director of Coaching Jürgen Ruckaberle will coordinate, promote, register, oversee, and assist the program. Players wanting to make the full year commitment to join the U10 program will pay a total cost of $595 plus an additional cost for each tournament (approx $50/tournament.)
This fee can be paid off over a five month period if desired. See details with a calendar here.
