EMFC Program Overview
Youth Developmental Program
Ages 6 - 10
The Eugene Metro Fútbol Club provides a number of opportunities for young players to develop a love for the game of soccer.
During these early years, EMFC focuses its program on teaching basic technical soccer skills to improve each individual player. Players will apply these skills in small sided games to enhance their understanding and their passion for the game of soccer. In addition, this program will help to prepare a young soccer player for recreational play and for possible EMFC club team formation beginning at age 10.
The following is a list of events and activities that EMFC offers throughout the year for this age group. You can select the programs that best suit your player's needs and schedule.

Youth U10 Developmental Program Details.
Youth Premier Program
Ages 10 - 14
The Eugene Metro Fútbol Club starts to form committed and competitive youth teams that play in the statewide OYSA (Oregon Youth Soccer Association) league.
These teams play and train from May to November and from February to April. While technical skills are still developed, tactical understanding and team play begins to play a larger role in the players? progress.

Youth Premier Program Details.
High School Premier Program
Ages 15 - 18
The Eugene Metro Fútbol Club forms committed and competitive premier club teams that play in the statewide OYSA winter league. These teams compete and train from December to July.
Technical skills are maintained and improved, but the emphasis shifts to teaching the tactical aspects of the games. Match preparation and fitness play a more prominent role as players prepare for participating in their respective High School Soccer programs and take steps to enter college level teams.

High School Premier Program Details.
Soccer Community Offerings
The following programs offer additional training opportunities for players on our club teams as well as all interested soccer players in our community. Players are placed in age and skill appropriate small group environments.
These offerings are all conducted by qualified EMFC staff coaches.

ODP Prep Training Sessions
All EMFC players are encouraged to visit the OYSA website and inform themselves about the Olympic Development Program (ODP). EMFC players who want to reach for higher goals should consider this excellent opportunity to play and compete with the best in Oregon. Contact your coaches if you have questions about this program. If enough players want to participate in the tryout process of ODP, EMFC will provide a preparation program for these players.
TOPSoccer
TOPSoccer is a program that was created by Mac Wilson (EMFC Director of Coaching) in 1999. The TOPSoccer program offers soccer clinics for kids with special needs. The program is funded through private and corporate donations from members of our community. Volunteers/Buddies are recruited from local High Schools and EMFC club teams to assist at the TOPSoccer Clinics.
