Background

Erik is a New York native, but an indoctrinated Oregonian.  He played high school soccer for Steve Sutton at Red Hook High School in New York, where he earned four varsity letters and captained the team his junior and senior years before graduating in 2002.

Erik moved to Oregon to play soccer and attend college at Willamette University in Salem.  He studied English and Philosophy and graduated in 2006.

After graduation, Erik was named Head Boys Soccer Coach at Sprague High School in Salem, where he led the Olympians for two years before going back to school.  He credits his time at Sprague as instrumental in igniting his passion for coaching.

Erik is a special education teacher at Churchill High School in Eugene where he serves as assistant varsity coach for the Lancers boys’ soccer team.  Staying true to the Churchill family, he is also Bryn Dennehy’s assistant coach for the Celtic U-12 boys’ side.
