Background

Before joining the EMFC staff in April 2007, Brian was the Men's Varsity Assistant Coach at Sheldon High School. He served as the Junior Varsity Coach at Sheldon during the 2004 season. Prior to EMFC , Brian was also an OUSA staff coach for 2 years. Brian grew up in Salem, Oregon and was an all league player at McKay High School. His club soccer playing experience included Northeast Salem Soccer Club and Salem United Soccer Club. Brian's father, Ron Roach, was a founding member of Salem United Soccer Club (now Cascade Futbol Club).

Brian was the Head Coach for the EMFC U11 boys Rangers from 2006-2008, an assistant with U17 Boys Fury in 2007, and an assistant with the U16 Girls Extreme in 2008. He led the Rangers to the runners up trophy at the 2006 Presidents Cup and a first place finish in the spring 2007 premier bronze division. In 2008, Brian guided the U14 girls Phoenix team to an overall record of 21-2-1 and a President's Cup Championship. Currently Brian coaches the 96’ Azzurri boys.  Notable accomplishments for the Azzurri include an appearance in the Final of the 2010 OPL Directors Cup and a Semi-Final berth in the 2011 OPL State Cup. 

Brian graduated from the University of Oregon where he majored in business administration. He currently works for O'Connell Pension Consulting in Eugene, and is an avid fly fisherman when he isn't coaching.
